Honor a Nurse this Nursing Appreciation Week!

#EMUHonorANurse

Let’s face it. This year has been challenging. But we’re getting through it, in part thanks to our amazing nurses within the EMU School of Nursing and our alumni nurses! National Nurses Week is May 6-12th, and there is no better way to honor a nurse by considering a gift of any size in their name to the School of Nursing, or their COVID-19 Student Relief Fund!

Nurses and nursing students, like EMU's own Andrea Bogardus, change the lives of millions of people every day—and in a year where instruction and practice could be virtual, in-person or a mix of both, their immense work and impact have provided a much-needed sense of community and connection. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses across America are working hard to ensure the health and safety of others are taken care of.

This year will be one for the history books. So let’s celebrate the way our nursing faculty, nursing students, and alumni nurses have gone above and beyond!

When making your gift on the giving page, be sure to leave the name and contact information of the person you're honoring so we can let them know!

About the School of Nursing Covid-19 Relief Fund

The School of Nursing and its students have been particularly hard it with COVID-19 related expenses, changes in their clinical experiences, and their work environments. Many of our students have had changing work in health facilities, some have lost jobs, been asked to support family members. The School has also established the EMU Telehealth clinic to support the EMU community.

The purpose of the School of Nursing COVID-19 Relief Fund is to provide support to the School of Nursing in aid of COVID-19 relief efforts including, but not limited to, purchasing of personal protective equipment, supplies, technology, and additional COVID related expenses that contribute to the health and safety of faculty, staff, and students within the School of Nursing.

Additionally, this expendable fund may provide small emergency scholarships to School of Nursing Students who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.

Upon the ending of the pandemic and/or no further need of the intended purpose of this fund  the balance, if any, may be moved into the School of Nursing Endowment Fund for sustainability of the program.
