The School of Nursing and its students have been particularly hard it with Covid-related expenses, changes in their clinical experiences, and their work environments. Many of our students have had changing work in health facilities, some have lost jobs, been asked to support family members. The School has also established the EMU_Telehealth clinic to support the EMU community.
The purpose of the School of Nursing COVID-19 Relief Fund is to provide support to the School of Nursing in aid of COVID-19 relief efforts including, but not limited to, purchasing of personal protective equipment, supplies, technology, and additional COVID related expenses that contribute to the health and safety of faculty, staff, and students within the School of Nursing. Given the recent pandemic, expenses such as mask fittings at $100 per student working the front lines are just an example of an unprecedented cost that are necessary to keep our students and faculty safe.
Additionally, this expendable fund may provide small emergency scholarships to School of Nursing Students who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
Upon the ending of the pandemic and/or no further need of the intended purpose of this fund the balance, if any, may be moved into the School of Nursing Endowment Fund for sustainability of the program.
