Center for Health Disparities Innovations and Studies (CHDIS)
The mission of the Center for Health Disparities Innovation and Studies (CHDIS) is to promote health and well-being of underserved populations with a focus on Asian Americans. During the COVID pandemic, we observed families and individuals in communities where we lost their loved ones and head of household; therefore, experienced tremendous economic hardship. One of the communities CHDIS works with is the Bangladeshi population in Hamtramck, Michigan. Since March of 2020, CHDIS has provided COVID-19 care packages, conducted listening and educational sessions, and hosted ~20 Flu and COVID-19 vaccine mobile clinics throughout Michigan.
The funds we raise will continue to provide health services and programs as well as emergency relief for underserved Asian Americans we serve. Our goal is to build healthier and stronger communities.
