EMU Rowing 2023

Rowing alumnae, the past eighteen months have been a time of transformation for your EMU Rowing program. The investment in our program has been substantial and is putting the team into a place to win.

Hopefully you’ve visited since we opened the new erg room in December. If not, please check out the unveiling video here and pictures here.  With 58 ergs and 15 bikes in place, our team is able to train harder and more efficiently than ever before.

Also, we are now in year two of our boat turn-over program with Pocock Racing. Since Fall of 2021 we have added 2 New 8+’s, 2 New 2+/-‘s and 4 new 4+’s. Next year we will be adding another 8+ and 4 more 2+/-‘s. With these new boats in place we are finally able to row in the same equipment as the top finalists in NCAAs.

We are now looking for the future and the expansion of the team and our donors and alumni are a huge part of making that successful.  As we kick off our crowdfunding campaign for the year we have one simple goal in mind, max out the equipment that we need to go faster on the water.  To do that we would like to max out the erg space in the new room by adding an additional 12 ergs, getting us to 70 total.  Also, we would like to purchase a full set of oars to outfit our new boats, and move the older oars into the smaller boats for technical work.  Between the additional ergs and the oars, we look to shave seconds off our times and win CAA titles.

As you can see the signs of transformation are now tangible for the program and I hope that you will stop in to see us when you are in town. You’re hard work and dedication put the program in a place where we can race for championships and the current team members train each day to raise the standard you created.
