EMU Women's Rowing Team

The Eastern Michigan University Rowing team is raising funds to purchase a new racing 8+. The Rowing Team has been active at EMU for nearly 20 years and is a staple athletic program at the University. The Rowing team opened a new boat house alongside the Saline High School Rowing Team in 2015, on the shore of Ford Lake just a few miles east of the EMU main campus. The new facility has brought many advantages to the program, but with your help the team has been steadily raising the funds over the past 2 years to purchase a new 8+.

The rowing team finished off their fall season on November 5th at the Head of the Hooch competition in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Competing against rowing teams from the University of Alabama, the University of Texas and many other large southern Universities. Eastern Michigan University entered four boats in the competition with their first boat completing the event in fifth place. the team ended on a strong note; their next completion is scheduled against the University of Alabama on February 24th.

The team could use all of the support that they can get before squaring off against the strong team that is awaiting them at The University of Alabama. Every bit of support is greatly appreciated and will go to good use by the program.

Choose a giving level

There are no small parts of any racing shell. Without all the oarlocks the boat doesn't move forward.

It takes 8 riggers to add the leverage necessary to move an 8 through the water. Your donation leverages us toward a new boat.

The oars move us toward the finish line. Your donation takes us each stroke closer to the finish line of a new boat.

This level is the true strength of any rowing shell. It is the support and the strength of the boat that keeps it moving forward, and holds it up out of the water. Your donation keeps us up and in a new boat.

No matter how great your rowing shell, it is the people in it that make it successful. These are the people that bleed green and white, suffer through blisters, burning muscles, and hours behind the handle to go fast. You can make all those mile and aches a little better by reminding them that someone else thinks of their effort.
