Eastern Michigan Gymnastics is looking for funding to kick off the season this January. The funds collected will go towards travel costs for the program and equipment costs. December 3rd, members of the gymnastics team competed in an exhibition at the University of Michigan Crisler Center, two Gymnasts competed in all around events and ended with scores of 38.00 and 39.125. All athletes that competed in the event performed very well and represented Eastern Michigan athletics with great routines. Events such as this get the team ready for the upcoming 2018 season and provide the Gymnasts with a competitive edge.
The 2018 season will open on January 6th at Penn State University, the kick off to the season is a much anticipated and will allow the athletes to show off all of the new routines that they have polished over the off season. The 2018 season will mark the first year of Head Coach Katie Minasola, who has helped bring 11 teams to NCAA regional appearances, six of those appearances being with Michigan States University, and five of those with Iowa State University. The upcoming season will be the start of a new era for Eastern Michigan University Gymnastics with a new coach at the reigns of the team.
The Gymnastics team has a long, but exhilarating season ahead of them that will test their skills. With a new leader at the helm of the coaching staff, the program looks to achieve their goal in landing a spot at the NCAA Regional Championships. We are hoping to make history and become the first team to qualify to the NCAA National Championships. To help these goals become a reality the Gymnastics team is looking for some funding to help supply the team with funds to offset travel expenses. Donating at any amount will help the program greatly.
